\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019am\u00e9nagement du territoire\u00a0et de d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional<\/em>\u00a0provides its students with resources both inside and outside the classroom.<\/p>\n

\"UrbanUrban Planning Workspace<\/strong><\/p>\n

Room FAS-1714. Master\u2019s students have several computer stations and tables at their disposal for annotating and analysing large plans.<\/p>\n

\n

\"ComputerComputer Laboratories<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rooms FAS-1513 and FAS-1630. Students have access to two computer laboratories at \u00c9SAD.\u00a0 One is reserved exclusively for the professors and students in the professional Master\u2019s program (essay).\u00a0It contains 22 stations and is open 24 hours a day.\u00a0 The other laboratory contains several high-performance machines and is often used for intense data processing, cartography or group work.<\/p>\n

\"EcologyEcology Laboratory<\/strong><\/p>\n

PhD and Master\u2019s students in the Environment research program (M.ATDR \u2013 thesis) have a work area and specialised equipment at their disposal, including high quality stereomicroscopes and a system for processing ground samples.<\/p>\n

\n

Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Free Wireless Internet access is provided on campus to members of the university.\u00a0 Information on the proper settings and configuration is available on the Direction des technologies de l\u2019information<\/em><\/a> website (DTI, in French only).<\/p>\n

\n

Mobile Laboratory<\/strong><\/p>\n

A minivan, used for site visits and transporting supplies, is available to members of the university community upon request.<\/p>\n

\n

Drinking Water Laboratory<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Research Chair in Drinking Water, one of the research teams at \u00c9SAD, has a laboratory dedicated to research work by Master\u2019s and PhD students.\u00a0 It contains analysis, experimentation and site equipment for collecting data for monitoring the physical, chemical and microbiological qualities of drinking water, both at the source and within the distribution network.<\/p>\n

\n

GIS + Planning = SIGAT (Land Use Planning Information and Management System)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following an agreement signed in 2004 by Laval University and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, \u00c9SAD has access to the Syst\u00e8me d\u2019information et de gestion an am\u00e9nagement du territoire<\/em> (SIGAT or Land Use Planning Information and Management System).\u00a0 SIGAT seeks to modernise the city\u2019s schema d\u2019am\u00e9nagement du territoire<\/em> (Land Use Development Plan) revision and update process through easy consultation and geo-reference modification information relating to the metropolitan area.\u00a0 This tool is accessible through the university library\u2019s Centre G\u00e9o\/Stat<\/a><\/strong><\/em> site, and is limited to members of the university community.<\/p>\n

R\u00c9ATUL<\/strong><\/p>\n

R\u00c9ATUL<\/a> (Le regroupement des \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants en am\u00e9nagement du territoire et d\u00e9veloppement regional de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/em> or the Association of Students in Land Use Planning and Regional Development) is a student organisation that brings Master\u2019s and PhD level students together at \u00c9SAD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
