Claude Lavoie is a professional biologist. He holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Montreal (1988), a Master\u2019s (1990) and a PhD (1994) in Biology from Laval University. He also held postdoctoral positions at Laval University (1994-1995) and the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research at the University of Colorado (1995-1996). He is the Department Head of the \u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019am\u00e9nagement du territoire et de d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional – \u00c9SAD (Graduate School of Environmental Planning and Regional Development) at Laval University, where he has taught since 1996. He is a specialist in the ecology and management of invasive plants, particularly in wetlands, riparian and lacustrine environments, and roadsides. He published with Publications du Qu\u00e9bec (2019, 2022) the only two books available on the subject in Eastern Canada. He also founded the Invasive Plants Training program, which to date has trained more than 2,000 people in the eco-responsible management of several noxious plants. Finally, at \u00c9SAD, he is responsible for the course dealing with natural hazards. <\/p>\n<\/div>
